Why LovingThyself ?

I have always had a heartfelt willingness to help others through mentoring, coaching and especially helping those who fall within my circle. With over thirty plus years of executive leadership and directorship in the non-profit sector where I was committed to the transitional stages of teen mothers and young adults to self-sufficiency.

None of it seemed important or relevant to my life after being diagnosed and hearing the devastating news of having cardiomyopathy and CHF (a double heart condition) where my heart was functioning at an extremely low rate, which is a life threatening disease.  Within hours of being told this, I received a call from by my dearest friend of thirty-seven years, my cheerleader, my confidant, my "I got your front and your back Sista" saying she was just diagnosis with a life threatening disease that afternoon as well.  Have you ever just sat there questioning WHY, so hurt and confused that your unable to pray for yourself?

Through it all I look back and realize God had us in mind when we both were assigned to the same doctors, underwent similar testing and allow us to understand how each one of us felt during each moment of that ordeal.  However; once I was able to regroup and regain my inter-straight I began praying and asking God for a new heart for it needed to be mended inside and out.

My journey included a phase of FORGIVENESS by letting go of some masked hurts, anger and pains. My Christmas Gift in 2007 was undergoing a heart procedure on December 26th,which allows my heart to function at 100% with the help of several devices.

This near death experience made me realize I needed to balance my life, set limits with love ones and friends, stop the work alcoholic attitude and most importantly stop neglecting myself.  Shortly thereafter I began receiving visions of Loving Thyself, meaning I was now accountable for ensuring I took care of myself, stop sitting on my God-given talents and gifts, and start sharing and doing the things I LOVED, He even took it a little further by instilling visions & dreams where Loving Thyself would be shared with women like YOU!

My God inspired visions for Loving Thyself are to create moments where women are allowed to restore, revive and rejuvenate themselves emotionally, physically and spiritually.

I am so thankful to God for the team of Associates who are focused and dedicated to fulfilling the mission of Loving Thyself and  seriously striving to plan exclusive day retreats through the year, along with one annual conference and a (3) three- day refuge/getaway.  Our Philosophy - We truthfully believe that everyone especially women deserve stress-free opportunities to let it all go, become less tense, rest,  and enjoys life (a moment to take care of oneself) in a serene atmosphere.
